The strategic recycling of fish processing byproducts as functional materials has attracted increasing attention for sustainable development and human health. In this study, we investigated the dermatological impact of chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) byproduct enzyme hydrolysates (OKPE) administered as a dietary supplement in mice.

The Disrupted-in-Schizophrenia 1 (DISC1) gene and negative symptoms in schizophrenia are both implicated in neurodevelopmental abnormalities. However, their relationship remains unclear. Thus, this study aimed to compare plasma DISC1 levels and negative symptoms severity between first-episode schizophrenia (FDS) patients and healthy controls (HCs), and examine their association.
Product: Human Disrupted in schizophrenia 1 protein (DISC1) ELISA Kit

Fibroblast growth factor 17 (FGF17) is implicated in neurodevelopment and synaptic function, yet its role in motivation remains unclear. This study compared serum FGF17 levels (measured using ELISA) between 74 patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) and 72 healthy controls (HCs), and examined its relationship with negative symptoms measured by the Motivation and Pleasure (MAP) and Expression (EXP) subscales of the Clinical Assessment Interview for Negative Symptoms (CAINS).

The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is essential for maintaining the homeostasis of the central nervous system. However, the processes of BBB formation in humans remain unclear. Here, using single-cell spatiotemporal transcriptomics, we investigate human BBB development from 6 to 21 gestational weeks (GWs) and observe widespread expression of BBB-specific transporters in all brain-endothelial subclusters during development.

Mevalonate kinase deficiency (MKD) is a rare monogenic autoinflammatory disorder characterized by recurrent fever episodes driven by dysregulated IL-1β secretion. Mutations in the MVK-gene cause enzymatic defects resulting in a shortage of geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate, leading to lowering of the threshold for pyrin inflammasome activation.
